Sometimes stress (uh, holidays?!) can create a feeling being caged.
Expectations. Traditions. Pressures. It can all feel a little restrictive.
How can you “release” yourself from the stressors? How can you uncage yourself?
Simple…Give yourself permission to soar and create the life you desire.
Okay, so sometimes it doesn’t feel that simple. Especially when we are experiencing a stressful period. But how often have you realized that you always had the key in your pocket and could have simply just unlocked the door?
Yesterday was an interesting day. I had all morning open; my intention was to work on my New Moon Meditation, newsletter, and this blog. But I got distracted by some newly release telehealth rules and regulations (I know, I know. I really know how to live it up). And on the telehealth website was a quote:
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
-George Bernard Shaw
In that brief moment, I completely forgot about CPT codes, PHI, and billing issues. I stopped and read the quote again.
I was stuck on the semantics. Stuck on how the sentences felt different. Find vs. Create. I read the quote again, but this time I leaned back in my chair, closed my eyes, and relaxed my body; repeating the quote silently and waited to see what came up for me….
Nothing. (ha!)
So, I put my shoes on and was off to pick up my son from school.
When I returned home my husband showed me our Ring video. While I was pondering the quote and waiting impatiently to be enlightened…my husband had opened the front door of our house for a workman and a Red-Tailed Hawk flew out of our front bushes. Literally a few feet from my husband! (You know me and animals, especially the birds, right??)
That gave me more to think about. So, what did I learn?
If you are stuck feeling caged…give yourself permission to soar and create the life you desire.
Life shouldn’t be a passive activity; you shouldn’t let life happen to you. You should play an active role in your life and in life.
Life shouldn’t be feeling confused or lost in understanding who you are. Life should be lived by exploring; revealing your passions.
Life should be filled with meaning and purpose; guided by a true knowing or inner guidance. Not by accident; but with mindful intention.
As you life and experience life, you should be continuing to learn more about yourself and learn more about what you want and need to experience happiness.
If it feels like you are still “finding” yourself but wanting to create a life that feels in line with the true you, I suggest that you try to a few strategies for clarity from my hawk friend:
- Be fearless
- Be a visionary (in your own life)
- Keep stepping forward for yourself
- Know and track your goals
- Be observant of signs and synchronicities
- Make time to be joyful and social
- Balance with quiet and rest
- Activate a plan for change
- Enjoy bounty and abundance
- Release the people/things that hold you back
- Celebrate the tribe you love and that loves and supports you
- Stay grateful
Wishing you an uncaged life!
Mary
